A story in which an example of vicarious traumatization is shared

One of my favorite Medium writers, Carol Burt, recently wrote very eloquently about her experience as a police chief whose duties included finding bodies. As she said, for people whose work involves that kind of trauma, sad memories end up being carried around under the surface, just waiting to bubble up at the most unexpected times.
